Outsourcing Strategy

Outsourcing, and to a lesser degree Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) has come of age. IT Management Services

An Information Services Strategy is one designed to enable an organisation to maximise the business value delivered by the effective exploitation of information and technology.

As with everything we do, we believe that an organisation’s Information Service Strategy must be driven by and aligned to its business strategy and objectives. The strategy must detail how it will apply information and technology to the key drivers of cost and value in the ‘Extended Enterprise’, i.e. within the organisation and between the organisation and its customers, suppliers and partners. Furthermore it must address governance, sourcing strategy (in-house or outsourced?), and establish effective operations management disciplines.

The Pitt Crew have assisted many companies to develop and implement their Information Service strategies including financial services, telecommunications and retail industries. The Pitt Crew recently led an IT Transformation program at BPAY Australia. Tasked with 'raising the bar' in all aspects of the management and delivery of Information Services, achievements included deployment of a new IT Service Management platform and the roll out of new Incident Management, Change Control and other ITIL processes; adoption of 'contemporary practice' in Applications Development (based on Agile methods), Information Security and IT Project Management; and the establishment of sound IT governance, including a new Architecture Review Board, and the revitalisation of the Project Control Board and Change Advisory Board. 

The success and ongoing 'improvement trajectory' of the transformation was assessed periodically by independent review, confirming that the organisation was on target to achieve its objectives in good time... and within budget.
